Jeffrey Birnbaum Joins BGR Public Relations

Washington, D.C. – January 19, 2010: Veteran journalist, author and television and radio commentator Jeffrey H. Birnbaum has joined BGR Group as President of BGR Public Relations.

During his award-winning career in journalism, Birnbaum has worked for the premier news outlets in the United States. He was a White House, congressional and tax reporter for the Wall Street Journal, a senior political correspondent for Time Magazine, Washington bureau chief for Fortune Magazine and a columnist for the Washington Post.

He is a longtime contributor to Fox News Channel and is a columnist for the Washington Times where until recently he was Managing Editor-Digital, in charge of multimedia and online news.  Birnbaum is also the author of four books about Washington including the award-winning Showdown at Gucci Gulch, which he wrote with Alan S. Murray. In 1994, he won the Aldo Beckman Memorial Award for his coverage of the Clinton White House.

At BGR Public Relations, Birnbaum will help lead a team in Washington and London that gives strategic advice to coalitions, companies, governments and others about how to deal with the media and public policy development. “I’m happy to join such a well-established and well-regarded enterprise and look forward to dealing with the many new challenges that lie ahead,” Birnbaum said.
